2005 polaris oil filter

Do I have to remove the skid plate to access the oil filter? I can't find any videos on that year. No removeable box under the drivers seat.

Sounds like a frustrating spot to be stuck on when you're just trying to get an oil change done. Have you had a chance to look underneath and see how the plate is fastened or is it just hard to tell without crawling under there with a light?
