Quick question about my 24 Polaris Ranger 570

Not sure what that part is called, looks like an intake manifold. there's a small alum bit sticking out that I need to trim for a project. Does anyone know what it's for and if there's anything behind it before I cut? Don't want to cause any problems inside! Thanks!

where is this aluminum bit sticking out from? it's hard to know what it is, I need more context. but I know that cutting it without knowing is a really bad idea
 
Before you cut anything, you should check if that aluminum piece is part of a sensor mount or bracket? Could it be connected to something inside like wiring or vacuum lines?

Do not cut it unless you are able to confirm what's behind it!!! If you're not sure you can send us a pic here.

Yeah, it might be a vac port or a mounting boss. I'd check where it goes before cutting it. It might not be a big deal, but it could also cause issues later. What are you working on?
 
That's solid advice. I had a similar experience with my older 570, discovered a mysterious port near the intake that ended up being for an accessory I didn't need. I'm really glad I took the time to double-check before sealing it up. It's definitely smart to trace it first. What project are you working on with yours?
