Something's not right

I got an aftermarket lightbar for my 2018 high lifter 1000 and i thought i install it the right way but apparently i didn't. Anyways, after my attempt at installation not only the lightbar but also the headlights weren't working. I know that I've made a mistake and should've let professionals do it, but it is what it is. Does anyone know what the problem can be and how to fix it?

It may be a wiring issue. Ensure the lightbar isn't interfering with the headlight circuit. If you tapped into the wrong wire or skipped a relay that could be the problem. Have you tested the fuses or used a multimeter to trace the wiring?

I think you might've shorted something or blew a fuse in the process, easy to do when wiring accessories. Check the fuse box first, especially anything labeled lights or accessories, if those are fine, check your grounds and make sure nothing's back feeding. You'll get it sorted, just part of the fun, hehe, fret not

Don't beat yourself up too hard, most of us have cooked a fuse or two figuring things out. and all has been sai about a blown fuse but you can still check your ground connections. A bad or shared ground can knock out more than just the lightbar. If you're using a shared switch or power tap from the headlight circuit, that might've overloaded it too

Most likely a blown fuse or bad ground, check the fuses and wiring, especially around the light circuits. Replace the fuse and fix any wiring mistakes.

Agree with them all. Definitely sounds like a fuse popped or a ground got messed up during the install. Start with the basics and trace the wiring before diving deeper.

Check the fuse first, then double-check your ground and any shared connections. One small wiring slip can ruin the whole setup. It's kinda sneaky like that so... Anyway @Tumblrrr is right don't beat yourself up. We've all got so much to learn.

Absolutely! Just one faulty ground or crossed wire can take out everything downstream. Fuses usually take the hit first. It's all part of the learning curve, everyone's faced those pesky electrical issues at some point
