Ranger 1000 rack weight bed movement concerns

I built a rack for my Ranger 1000 that comes in at around 70 pounds. It actually hangs over the front a bit, which is great since it lets me fit my gun holders right in the front part of the bed. But I've noticed that the bed tends to flex a bit, and that made the Lock & Ride mounts loosen up more than I'd like. To fix that, I used some tie-downs, and that seems to have done the trick

I'm curious though, how heavy are your racks? Do you think having something that weighs around 70 pounds (and probably pushing 110 when it's loaded up) leads to too much movement or could it damage the bed in the long run? I'd really appreciate any thoughts you have on this

70 pounds isn't too crazy, but once it's fully loaded, I can see how the extra weight might cause wear and tear over time. curious though, do the tie-downs keep everything stable or do they still need tightening every now and then when on rough roads?

If its holding up, youre probably okay for a bit like shortterm, but long term trail use could stress the bed. Sp better consider a frame mounted rack for peace of mind

That flexing is a concern especially over time with rough terrain, have you checked if the bed frame or mounting points are starting to show stress or small cracks yet?

For me it's about the same weight. I kinda started seeing some flex after a few runs so be wary of that. If you do a lot of heavy work with your Ranger 1000, I believe a frame mount might save you trouble later.
