My 2013 ranger misfire when fan kicks in

When the cooling fan starts my ranger is missing at low speed. It's even worse when i turn the lights on. i got the LO 10.5" voltage code. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any opinion would be appreciated

Your battery voltage is dropping too low based on what I know. Not really sure about that, so better wait for other responses.

Yep a voltage drop issue, when the fan and lights kick on, it could be pulling too much power, causing the engine to stutter, have you checked the alternator or battery connections?

I suspect the same as @Padilon, it could be a low voltage issue due to a weak battery or your alternator isn't charging properly. It's less likely but also possible that it could be a bad ground connection or a wiring issue. Hope you get it fixed soon, a failing electrical systems is more costly down the road!

low voltage codes are never good. And it's getting worse with the fan and lights? That sounds like your electrical system is really struggling. I wouldn't wait to get that checked out

It looks like you might have a low voltage problem. Check the battery, stator, and voltage regulator first. Don't forget to look at the connections and the fan relay as well. You could also try running it at higher RPMs to keep the voltage up.

Totally went through something similar with my truck! It turned out to be a weak battery and a bad ground connection. I gave the grounds a good clean added an extra chassis ground strap and swapped in a fresh battery, problem solved! You might want to check your grounds and see how your battery's holding up too. By the way, what year is your Ranger?
